Building an Online Grocery Store for Local Delivery
Dirolio Freshbox was conceived by Róbert Balík to make fresh food and everyday essentials available to customers around Vinica through a local delivery service using the business’s own vehicle. To bring this concept online, the business needed an e-commerce platform capable of presenting a broad product range, organizing a complex catalogue, and supporting customer membership benefits.
Playful Sparkle developed a WordPress and WooCommerce online store that brings fresh and chilled products, bakery items, frozen foods, pantry essentials, beverages, and household care products into one storefront. The implementation also includes a purchase-based membership discount system and a structured product taxonomy designed to make browsing and shopping easier.

Develop an e-commerce platform that supports Dirolio Freshbox’s local grocery delivery business. The website needed to organize a diverse product catalogue into clear categories, provide customers with a practical online shopping experience, and incorporate a membership system that rewards purchases with discounts.

The completed online store gives Dirolio Freshbox a central platform for presenting its products and accepting online orders. Its category structure separates fresh and chilled foods, bakery products, frozen goods, shelf-stable groceries, beverages, and drugstore and cosmetic products, helping customers navigate a varied assortment.
The membership system introduces purchase-based discounts, giving the business a way to reward returning customers through its online store. Together, the catalogue architecture, shopping functionality, and customer benefits provide a digital foundation for Dirolio Freshbox’s planned local delivery model around Vinica.
The project centered on translating Dirolio Freshbox’s delivery concept into a practical e-commerce structure. WordPress and WooCommerce provided the platform for product management and online shopping, while the product taxonomy was organized around the different types of goods customers would purchase. This required a category hierarchy that could accommodate fresh produce, chilled foods, meat, dairy products, pantry staples, and non-food essentials without making the catalogue difficult to navigate.
A membership system was incorporated to connect customer purchases with discount benefits. The storefront design uses a warm, neutral background, dark navy sections, yellow accents, and product-focused layouts to present the catalogue and distinguish key interface elements. The resulting implementation brings product discovery, online shopping, and purchase-based customer rewards together within one manageable platform.
