Building a Distinct Brand Identity for Balog nad Ipľom Preschool
Materská škola s vyučovacím jazykom maďarským Balog nad Ipľom provides preschool education in Hungarian and plays an important role in preserving the language and cultural traditions of the local community. New Slovak requirements for school websites and the publication of institutional documents created an urgent need for a dedicated online presence.
The project involved more than building a website. The kindergarten needed a distinctive visual identity and an accessible, playful website that would make important information available to parents in both Slovak and Hungarian. Playful Sparkle worked with the institution to define the website structure, develop a new bilingual logo, and create a WordPress website that brings school information, required documents, educational resources, and everyday kindergarten activities together in one place.
Objective
Create a distinctive visual identity and a bilingual website that reflects the kindergarten’s educational approach and Hungarian-language heritage. The website needed to present the institution professionally, make essential information easy to find, publish the required school documents, and give parents convenient access to admissions information, staff details, educational programmes, and kindergarten activities.

The completed website gives the kindergarten a dedicated bilingual online presence supported by a new visual identity. Parents can find information about admissions, teachers, school policies, the educational programme, and everyday activities through a clearly organized website in Slovak and Hungarian.
The required institutional documents are published online in dedicated sections, supporting transparent access to school information. The photo gallery and activity pages also provide a place to document kindergarten life and communicate events to families. The new logo gives the institution its own recognizable identity, with separate language versions for consistent use across both website languages.
Approach
The project began with discussions about the kindergarten’s immediate legal requirements, communication needs, visual identity, and the information parents needed to access. We established the website structure around the institution’s essential documents, admissions process, staff, educational programme, and daily activities before developing the visual design.
The new logo was designed specifically for the kindergarten and adapted into Slovak and Hungarian versions. The website’s visual language uses warm cream backgrounds, earthy colours, serif typography, and playful wave-shaped section separators. These elements create a welcoming appearance suited to an early childhood education environment while providing visual distinction between content sections.
WordPress was used to implement the bilingual website and organize its content into dedicated pages and sections. The document area accommodates the school’s educational programme, operating regulations, school rules, and other published institutional information. Additional pages cover admissions, teachers, school activities, and photography. This structure connects the kindergarten’s administrative responsibilities with its communication needs while providing a platform the institution can maintain over time.
